Hey Family

Well its currently pouring buckets outside and we are hiding out in
the cyber luckily emailing.....love the rain. It felt a lot like
England today so that was kinda cool. This week was hard a good at the
same time. I really appreciated Scotts letter about opposition when
great things are coming or when we are trying to do our best. I have
definitely felt that in the mission. This week as well. I don´t think
even as near as what Scott felt but for sure we get our share of
opposition. So this week we were working hard trying to get our
investigators to progress and we are teaching a family of about 5 and
the boyfriend of one of the daughters right now and we are trying
everything to get them to church and get them baptized.....so we
taught them and everything on Friday and then on Sunday we passed with
breakfast to get them to come to Sacrament meeting and then were all
sleeping and wouldn´t come! We told them all we were bringing
breakfast and everything and so we just had to take the long walk back
to the church. It was tough but we were able to talk about what we can
try to do better next time and just a lot about agency and patience
and love and charity. It was tough because we know what they are
saying no to and we just have to be patient with them until little by
little they begin to understand. We have a family home evening with
them tonight with some members so we are going to watch the
Restoration and we are really hoping a miracle happens so pray for us!
We found a ton of people who have had family members die this week!
Its been so crazy. We have been working a ton with getting references
from everyone their neighbors etc. and we have found a couple of
really good people. One lady stopped us mid sentence while we were
talking with her and just said hey do you know why I said yes to let
you share what you teach with me? We were like why? She said my
brother just died 2 months ago and we are really sad and I know we
need to get closer to God. So we are going to go back this week and
see her. I love teaching the Plan of Salvation and the hope that
people feel as they understand more of Gods plan for them. Also
something else that was actually really funny. We were talking with
our landlords the other night and our one landlord is blind and he
always calls us his niƱas! haha his daughters. So one night we came
back and they were sitting outside and were talking with us for a bit
and he was like so tell me why you don´t drink coffee? So we simply
explained the Word of Wisdom to him and just said it blesses us etc.
and that was it we went back to our pench and then like 3 days later
we get a knock at our door and its our landlord and he is like guess
what? I stopped drinking coffee! For 3 days straight! He was drinking
a liter a day before and he stopped cold turkey without us even
comitting him too!!! hahahahaha it was so awesome! Then he was telling
us how his leg hasn´t been hurting since he stopped and his legs
really bothers him and has for years and the doctor always told him to
cut back or stop drinking coffee. Anyways just a testimony
strengthener about the Word of Wisdom and the funny thing is he is
always trying to ask us about our diet now what we eat etc. How we
cook our eggs etc in water in oil hahahahaha. We just laugh so hard
because he just is trying to copy us. So we think we may tell him that
he will feel younger or more energy if he goes to church on sunday
with us hahahaha. But really its funny. So its been a good week this
week. We had our recent convert come out with us this week and help us
teach and it was so cool to see her bear her testimony (when she asked
us 5 min before we taught how to bare it and what is was) It was cool
because each lesson we taught her testimony was firmer and stronger
and more detailed it was so cool to see that growth. I think that
Heavenly Father must think and feel the same way when he sees us grow
as his children. I think its awesome. She has been reading the Book of
Mormon. We gave her a challenge to read it all by May and after one
week she had finished 1 Nephi! We were so shocked and excited and she
says since she has been baptized she has had more desire to read and
understands more! Its so cool to see her knowledge grow in the gospel
and its all because of the Holy Ghost before it was like she was just
stagnant and now she is just on fire!
