Becca's First Letter

Hola Familia!!!!

WOW! I don't even know where to begin. The MTC is absolutely incredible! I absolutely love it here! The first day was pretty intense as we were go go go and I was pretty tired but excited for the next day that night. I met a few sisters that left today for their missions. They are Spanish speaking as well and they are amazing! I only knew them for 5 days but I love them so much! So my companions name is Hermana Crapes! She is from California/just moved to Rexburg. She comes form a family of 15! I know! Anyways she is actually serving in the Argentina Mendoza mission as well. So we will see a lot of each other. There are 4 sisters in our district of 11 people. Me and my companion, and Hermana Gleed and Hermana Lambeth. We all live in the same apt. Me and Hermana Crapes are the only ones going to Argentina. We have met some other people going to Argentina in the MTC but only like 2 going  to Mendoza. I don't think I have ever been so busy in my life. We are up at 6 a.m. get ready and off to breakfast then we have class and lunch then depending on the day we have an hour of gym with is awesome. I play basketball with the elders (we play speed) don't worry Hermana Lambeth comes with me. :) I love the elders in my district by the way. We are all such good friends and we have so much fun together. Anyways after lunch and that we have more class dinner then class again or devotionals or firesides etc. We have to have 1hr. of personal study 1hr. of companion study 1hr. of language study and then we just study study study for the rest of the time. Lets just say that I thought school was hard.....a mission is much harder. But its so amazing! I feel like I have changed so much in this last week. Its incredible. I have never been humbled so hard in my life. We are infants in the gospel.  I have really been praying for the gift of Charity. God is working miracles with me. I have grown to love her a lot. She is exactly what I need right now. I have learned a lot of patience and a lot of Charity. I have only just begun to understand the importnace of that gift. I was called to be the Relief society coordinator (its about the equivilant of the district leader I guess.) There are only 4 sisters in our zone and they are in in our district. We are blessed. I feel so humbled to be called to do this though as I have so much to do already I feel like the Lord is qualifying me for the work.  I appreciate all the mail I have been getting! Missionaries love Mail!!! I miss everyone but I am not homesick at all. I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be! I have been able to see Scott and I took a picture with him. I will print some pictures this week and try to send them off! Mom I don't need those shoes I have some if you want can you send me my black flats? Also mom I think you should send me some treats in the mail because I would absoluetly love it. Have the kids draw me some pics and send me some pics in the mail! We have thanksgiving this Thursday and a big Fireside I think we are going to have a General Authority! How awesome it that! As for the Language! Wow the lord really works miracles with his missionaries learning languages. The gift of tounges is here. I can pray and bear my testimony only after 5 days here in the MTC! Also introduce myself and my companion as missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I was thinking I might get a tape recorder here in the book store and record some stuff for you and send it in the mail! So maybe expect something in the mail the next few weeks!

I love you all and I know the Lord is blessing you there at home! Keep praying for me I need all the prayers I can get!

P.S. I have seen Rawley, Jared, Scott, Jordan, and a few people from school at BYU-Idaho that was really cool!
Anyways please stay in touch I love you all!!! Adios!!!

The MTC is intense...work...work...work

Hey! Hola!
I just got back from the temple and it was so amazing I had a couple cool experiences. I just tried to really connect with the name I was doing and totally felt so excited and so happy just ilke he would be that I was doing his work! Thats crazy you got that much snow.. its hasn't snowed here yet but things are turning a little cooler.. I saw becca and rawley both yesterday and gave them both hugs! it was really weird actually I was like shaking.. also I saw jared kenly and said hi to him to! I have been really frustrated with the spanish this week and its really hard since everyone in my district has had at least 2 years of spanish in high school so i feel so behind but my teacher talked to me and he is so amazing he told me I cant compare myself but that I have made awesome progress. we talked alot about faith and how we just have to experiement on christ's words. Alma 32 read that chapter it really is so amazing! The mtc is intense its work work work. my schedule is wake up at 6 or 6 30 then gym or whatever its different everday but we get 50 min for that so I play volleyball with tons of the other elders and siters. we have breakfast for 30 min then personal study for 1 hour then companionship study for 1 hour and then lang study for 1 hour we have lunch. umm personal time to study more or get things from the bookstore write letters extra and then we have class till 9 at night! its intese but so sweet. oh and we get dinner too. ps I gained 3 pounds so im excited! I have had a little throat cold and thought I might have strep throat but i went to the doctor here and it was just a viral infection. so im taking so medicine to help but im fine other than that. I got the suit becca brought and im doing alot better now. Im not discouraged about the lang anymore cuz I know itll come.  I love the work its going good I dont really know what else to say. Sounds like the kids are having fun and dave and breanne are getting excited for their wedding that will be awesome! I still haven 't met anyone going to my mission so thats a bummer but ive seen alot of familiar faces here so its nice. My district is so sweet and we are all instantly best friends. I swear I met all of them in the pre existence or something cuz like after the first day with them I felt so close and like I had really known them before! I love you all. I think beccas pday is on tuesday so expect to here from her then.. I leave here jan 12 and yeah.. I dont really know what else to say. I love it ihere and its intense!  I love you all and I gotta get going my times almost up! I love you!

Yo se que JesuCrist nuestro salvador!

The MTC is amazing seriously!! I cant even begin to describe in words how special of a place it is. The spirit is so strong here and its like a constant spiritual high!! I have started to learn spanish and seriously its amazing! My companion here at the MTC is Elder DunFord! He is from Michigan and he is pretty cool! We get along great! We stay in a room with 4 Elders and one of them (Elder Weeks) is from Atlanta! So I have been pretty excited about that! I still haven't met anyone going to Atlanta and that kinds stinks but its ok! There are 10 Elders in my district and 4 are going to Guatemala, 2 to Pocetello including my companion, one to connneticut, panama, and nicaruaga. The spirit is seriously been so amazing helping me learn to speak spanish. My first day I learned how to pray and then the next I learned how to testify! Its so hard to teach and I was really discouraged yesterday because I felt like I sucked so bad at teaching but later that night we had a zone meeting and we learned so much about how to teach and its going 100% better!!
Today has been the first opportunity we have had to write! We are busy busy busy and learning so fast! The food is good and the work is hard. Its mentally tiring because the spirit is so strong and I can only relate it to Joseph Smith having visions and being so drained after because of the strong spirit! I love the work so much I dont really know what else to tell you.. Becca I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday! Its a big day and you will love it I can tell. Its really intense and frustrating sometimes trying to learn everything so fast an you really get humbled fast. We seriously know nothing. Not even close how to teach and thats probably the biggest thing Ive learned so far is learning by the spirit and teaching by the spirit!

I love it here so much. We are on the go from 7:00 and then go to bed by 10:30 so its pretty intense. The gospel is amazing! Yo se que JesuCrist nuestro salvador! That means I know that Jesus Christ is my saviour. Its so sweet learning a new languague. Anyways I I dont know what else to tell you rather than it is amazing here. I love it. Its so amazing being a missionary and the blessings that come from it! Keep writing and I will talk to you next Friday!
