Becca's First Letter

Hola Familia!!!!

WOW! I don't even know where to begin. The MTC is absolutely incredible! I absolutely love it here! The first day was pretty intense as we were go go go and I was pretty tired but excited for the next day that night. I met a few sisters that left today for their missions. They are Spanish speaking as well and they are amazing! I only knew them for 5 days but I love them so much! So my companions name is Hermana Crapes! She is from California/just moved to Rexburg. She comes form a family of 15! I know! Anyways she is actually serving in the Argentina Mendoza mission as well. So we will see a lot of each other. There are 4 sisters in our district of 11 people. Me and my companion, and Hermana Gleed and Hermana Lambeth. We all live in the same apt. Me and Hermana Crapes are the only ones going to Argentina. We have met some other people going to Argentina in the MTC but only like 2 going  to Mendoza. I don't think I have ever been so busy in my life. We are up at 6 a.m. get ready and off to breakfast then we have class and lunch then depending on the day we have an hour of gym with is awesome. I play basketball with the elders (we play speed) don't worry Hermana Lambeth comes with me. :) I love the elders in my district by the way. We are all such good friends and we have so much fun together. Anyways after lunch and that we have more class dinner then class again or devotionals or firesides etc. We have to have 1hr. of personal study 1hr. of companion study 1hr. of language study and then we just study study study for the rest of the time. Lets just say that I thought school was hard.....a mission is much harder. But its so amazing! I feel like I have changed so much in this last week. Its incredible. I have never been humbled so hard in my life. We are infants in the gospel.  I have really been praying for the gift of Charity. God is working miracles with me. I have grown to love her a lot. She is exactly what I need right now. I have learned a lot of patience and a lot of Charity. I have only just begun to understand the importnace of that gift. I was called to be the Relief society coordinator (its about the equivilant of the district leader I guess.) There are only 4 sisters in our zone and they are in in our district. We are blessed. I feel so humbled to be called to do this though as I have so much to do already I feel like the Lord is qualifying me for the work.  I appreciate all the mail I have been getting! Missionaries love Mail!!! I miss everyone but I am not homesick at all. I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be! I have been able to see Scott and I took a picture with him. I will print some pictures this week and try to send them off! Mom I don't need those shoes I have some if you want can you send me my black flats? Also mom I think you should send me some treats in the mail because I would absoluetly love it. Have the kids draw me some pics and send me some pics in the mail! We have thanksgiving this Thursday and a big Fireside I think we are going to have a General Authority! How awesome it that! As for the Language! Wow the lord really works miracles with his missionaries learning languages. The gift of tounges is here. I can pray and bear my testimony only after 5 days here in the MTC! Also introduce myself and my companion as missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I was thinking I might get a tape recorder here in the book store and record some stuff for you and send it in the mail! So maybe expect something in the mail the next few weeks!

I love you all and I know the Lord is blessing you there at home! Keep praying for me I need all the prayers I can get!

P.S. I have seen Rawley, Jared, Scott, Jordan, and a few people from school at BYU-Idaho that was really cool!
Anyways please stay in touch I love you all!!! Adios!!!

  1. I'm sure you know this since you're her family and all, but Becca is an incredible girl. I can't even tell you all that she has done for me. She was in my ward last semester and we were on the SRC together. What a girl!! I hope I can bump into her at the MTC, but it's a fat chance. I'm going to Russia, so we'll see.
